Amanda Sinistaj
Principal
Founder, Amanda Sinistaj, is the catalyst behind Ellwood Interiors. Her design philosophy is rooted in an exuberant sense of wonder and a spirited belief that people always come first. This infuses every project with joy and centers clients at the heart of the process, so that their transformed spaces reflect who they are and contribute to their well-being.
Ever the adventure-seeker, Amanda leapt into founding Ellwood Interiors in 2012. Today, the firm is flourishing and specializes in luxury projects ranging from 3,000 square-foot remodels to 20,000 square-foot new construction. She refers to her clean and timeless aesthetic as “livable luxury” and is happiest making every client feel like they've been given an extraordinary gift.
Gratitude for the experience of having an incredible mentor early in her own career, has made Amanda a fierce advocate for the talented and compassionate crew she’s gathered at Ellwood Interiors. Together, they’ve embraced a culture of playful excellence, launched some stellar new careers, and come to excel at supporting each other to try new things without fearing risks.
Amanda has been featured in over 30 publications both locally and nationally including Detroit Home, Builder Architect, and Styleline magazines. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and between her and her team the recipient of 51 awards for design excellence in metro Detroit, MI. She was featured on the Food Network series “Food Court Wars”, where she was in charge of remodeling two of the featured kitchens. Her talent and professionalism have brought success to a number of projects, not only in her home state of Michigan, but also in North Carolina, Illinois, California, Maryland, Colorado, Florida and Arizona.
Amanda’s value of putting people first has also manifested through her support of the Big Brother Big Sister’s program, Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, Looking for my sister, St. Ann’s Food bank, Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute, Sweet Dreams Project, Gleaners and Forgotten Harvest. She continues to seek new ways to serve her community—both personally and professionally.
